A few months back I was asked to contribute to The Common, an Amherst College Arts Journal. When I attended Hampshire College, I took several classes at Amherst and occasionally even earned a good grade. It was an easy decision to contribute.
The Common seeks to have a conversation about a “modern sense of place” and Rachel Barrett’s work fit that goal perfectly.
My thanks to Amy Sande-Friedman, Bear Bergman and Jennifer Acker and a round of applause for Rachel Barrett who was trusting enough to let me discuss her work.

Sidenote:
The Editions and Artists Book Fair was rescheduled after Sandy to this coming weekend. I always look forward to this show. It is always a great mix of publishers and studios, both for and not-for-profit.
Drop by to see my friends Jeremy Dine, Austin Kennedy, Anne-Marie McIntyre and Kyle Simon at Studio 339, as well as the Lower East Side Printshop and Marginal Editions.
The EAB Fair will take place January 24th through 27, Thursday to Saturday 11 AM to 7 PM and Sunday Noon to 5:30 PM at The Altman Building, 125 West 18th Street, NYC between Sixth and Seventh Avenue.
